Holiday Activities
E-Poll
recently conducted its annual holiday survey. The wide-ranging
national study of over 1,300 children and adults covered such topics as
most-wanted gift and favorite holiday movie. “It reflects the mood of a
country that is struggling with the economic slowdown.” says Gerry
Philpott, E-Poll Market Research President & CEO.
Respondents
were asked “What ONE thing could you do, that does not involve spending
money, that would make your holiday season even better?” Both young and
old signaled a return to basics with agreement on the top answer:
“Being together with loved ones.”
The
survey also covered such topics as the greatest gift ever received,
favorite holiday characters and the one thing respondents could not
live without when cutting back on expenses. For those still
shopping, children were asked what gift they would choose if they could
only receive one this holiday season. The number one answer was a
Nintendo Wii, followed by Nintendo DS, bike and Sony Playstation
3.
Individuals
also submitted thousands of responses containing their most memorable
holiday experiences. Responses ranged from touching (“One
Christmas without money. It was the kids’ favorite”) to the humorous
(“when my Grandma got a big clock necklace like Flava Flav”).
